Who we are

This policy covers the website at kingjamesexplained.com and the KJV Bible iOS app (bundle ID com.micah.kjvbible). Both are operated by Rawlight. Contact: info@rawlightlabs.com.

We do not collect personal data

There is no account, sign-in, advertising, or analytics. We do not sell or share user information with third parties for marketing. The app does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.

What stays on your device

Bookmarks, reading progress, reading-plan checkoffs, text-size preference, theme, and optional “report an issue” flags are stored only on the device you are using:

  • On the website: in your browser’s local storage
  • In the iOS app: in Apple’s on-device Preferences (UserDefaults)

Uninstalling the app, or clearing the site’s stored data in your browser, deletes this information. We cannot see it.

Optional email

If you tap “Report an issue” on an explanation, your device’s mail app may open a draft to info@rawlightlabs.com. Nothing is sent until you choose to send the email. Whatever you include in that message is then ordinary email correspondence.

Sharing passages

Share uses your device’s built-in share sheet (or copy). We do not receive a copy of what you share.

Website hosting

The website is hosted by Vercel. Like most hosts, Vercel may process standard technical request data (such as IP address, user agent, and timestamps) to operate and secure the service. We do not use that for advertising or user profiling. The iOS app reads the Bible from files bundled in the app and does not need the website to function.

Offline cache (website only)

The website may register a service worker so recently viewed pages can load without a network. That cache stays in your browser. The iOS app does not use a service worker.

AI-generated explanations

Verse explanations, chapter summaries, and book overviews are generated in advance and shipped with the app and site. They are not created from your personal data. They may contain errors and are a study aid, not scholarly commentary.

Children

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The product does not require an account or any personal details to use.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the “Last updated” date. Continued use after a change means you accept the revised policy.
